Sunbeams in Seahouses

Spent a few days up in Seahouses again and was hoping to visit Holy Island but the tides were not favourable. On the last day, the sun came out on Seahouses beach and the rays of light were amazing.

I am present at the sowing of the seed of the world. With a geometry
of sunbeams, the soul lays the foundations of nature.

Ralph Waldo Emerson (1803–1882), U.S. essayist, poet, philosopher.

Sunny day

The sun was beautiful today and stupidly I only took my compact camera out with me. Subject I think may be getting a little boring now as I've covered these shots a few times in slightly different light conditions. However, the sun made the view look amazing.

These were taken at the top end of Ramsden resevoir.

Salt that's good for the heart

Today we once again visited Salts Mill which has been featured in a previous blog item. The last time I was only equipped with my iPhone camera, but today I had my dSLR. It was as magical as ever. The first floor is my favourite and it didn't disappoint with its amazing features, the smell of lilies and classical music playing. I could have stayed there all day.

Just in case

Today was a 'just in case' day. I didn't bother taking my dSLR out with me today, so I put my compact camera in my pocket 'just in case' and I'm glad I did. The sky and sun were amazing.

The following shot shows a walkway leading out into the reservoir that looks like it's leading you 'into the light'; some ethereal place.

Frozen in time

Cold weather is back bringing snow and ice and some interesting puddles.

A good day yesterday

Yesterday was a mixed day for weather, but the sun kept creeping out from behind the clouds and creating some fantastic views across the Holme Valley.
