I love black and white photography and I love taking pictures. Having dabbled with black and white processing in the dark room I succumbed to the ease of technology and began to use some simple apps on my Mac to convert my shots. I've now started using Nik Silver Effects 2. Using this blog I hope to share some of my favourite pictures and occasionally some thoughts on our not so black and white world. I may also occasionally publish a colour picture or two.

Barter Books
Over the Easter weekend I visited Barter Books which is located in Alnwick, Northumberland. The shop is reputed to be one of the biggest second hand book shops in Britain and is located in Alnwick's magnificent old Victoria railway station. I usually go for a browse and can't resist buying one or two books, but this time I was distracted taking photos with my iPhone. With the advent of new technology, such as e-readers, it makes one wonder just how long places like this will continue to exist. I must confess to owning a Kindle, but I still love the feel of books and how they look lined up on a bookcase.
